IT'S RAINING IN J. BASTIDA

“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.”

— Oscar Wilde

2nd of September, 2023

It’s Raining in Bastida. - a heartwarming downpour of generosity recently washed over Jose Bastida Elementary School (JBES) during the General Parents Orientation. This unexpected act of kindness came courtesy of the Mandalope Siblings and the dedicated members of the Barangay Dumoy Sangguniang Kabataan (Brgy. Dumoy SK), who came together to provide a ray of hope for the young learners.

The Mandalope Siblings, known throughout Bastida for their commitment to community service, teamed up with Brgy. Dumoy SK to orchestrate this act of kindness. Their goal? To ensure that no child at JBES would go without the essential tools for learning.

The idea behind the initiative was simple yet profound: provide school supplies to every learner at JBES. From pencils to notebooks and art supplies, the Mandalope Siblings and Brgy. Dumoy SK aimed to help ease the financial burden on parents while spreading smiles across the faces of the young learners.

Classrooms were adorned with an array of colorful school supplies, carefully organized to ensure each student received exactly what they needed. The volunteers wore bright smiles, mirroring the anticipation in the eyes of the young recipients.

One by one, students, from the smallest kindergartners to the most senior Sixth-graders, were invited to receive their supplies,  tools that would accompany them on their educational journey.

The joy and gratitude that radiated from the students were palpable. These school supplies symbolized a return to normalcy and a brighter future.

Speaking about the initiative, Hon. JM Mandalope, one of the siblings, said, "We believe in the power of education to transform lives. By providing these school supplies, we hope to empower these young minds and show them that their community believes in their potential."

The Mandalope Siblings and Brgy. Dumoy SK understand that education is not just about textbooks and classrooms; it's about fostering a sense of belonging and support. They are nurturing dreams, and with each donated pencil or paper, they are painting the canvas of the future for Bastida's learners.

Maam Maria H. Latiada, EdD, Principal IV expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the generosity shown by the Mandalope Siblings and Brgy. Dumoy SK. "This gesture goes beyond the classroom. It sends a message to our students that they are valued, and it strengthens the bond within our community," she remarked.

It’s Raining in Bastida—an outpouring of generosity, a shower of hope, and a promise of brighter days ahead. Through their collective efforts, the Mandalope Siblings and Brgy. Dumoy SK have demonstrated that even in the stormiest of times, the human spirit can shine as a beacon of compassion and support for those in need.
